THe Ix'chel story

Ix'Chel (pronounced ee-SHELL) was a Mayan goddess who, legend has it, was killed but brought back to life by the irresistible songs of hundreds of dragonflies. This beautiful tale of reawakening struck a chord with founder Colleen Moffatt, whose family has cherished and collected dragonfly-inspired items in honor of  her Grandmother, who passed many years ago.

In addition to her dragonfly connection, Ix'Chel is also the goddess of weaving and weavers. She is known as the Lady of the Rainbow for her ability to bring much-needed rains to nourish the crops used to create the beautiful dyes that illuminate the textiles that have been crafted by small groups of Mayan women for centuries.
